Not an autocross but not the weather...This was the 21th Annual Dacula Memorial Day Parade and it appears it was a hit again. Thousands lined the route and watched for almost 2 hours as floats, military vehicles, tractors, cars, bands, politicians, and assorted military veterans traveled down Dacula Road. (Missed getting your picture Tommy H!) A bit about it from the Dacula Memorial Day website: "Founded by Marvin Atherton, the Dacula Memorial Day parade has been a proud tradition in Dacula since 1994. The parade has grown over the years and remains the only Memorial Day parade in Metro Atlanta, largest in the the state of Georgia and one of the largest in our nation with more than 150 units participating in the parade each year!" This parade is always fun, probably because you can get right up to the edge of the street and see everything up close and personal. Kids love it for the candy and all the sights and sounds. I won't spend much time talking about it here, but instead will let the pictures and videos do the talking. I didn't get a picture of everything, but here are a few of what I did get. All of these pictures and videos were taken using a Canon Powershot SX500 IS digital camera. Cars in the ParadeYou can click on any image for a larger view. You think my tractors sexy?A few military floats and vehicles...A few miscellaneous pictures...A few videos...And one I threw together...I need to get some good video editing software... did this with Windows Movie Maker.

Just some thoughts about driving the "Jeep", a SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) E Modified car that remotely looks like a Jeep. The Jeep is owned by Jim Murphy, so I just show up and drive it! Archives
